Is Matt Cardona done with AEW?

To the surprise of many, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion made his debut with the promotion back in late July by helping Cody Rhodes from a Dark Order attack. Cardona continued to compete in AEW until ALL Out, where him, Scorpio Sky, Goldust, and QT Marshall beat Mr. Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson.

Since then, Cardona hasn’t been seen on AEW television and there’s been no mention of the former WWE superstar on the broadcast since the pay-per-view. During a Pro Wrestling Junkies Q&A session, Cardona confirmed that his short deal with AEW ended at All Out back in August:

“With AEW, obviously, that's the place to be right now. You hear for years of this new promotion that's coming and it never does, but AEW did come and when I was released from WWE, I said I definitely want to go there and try it out. Luckily for me, I'm good friends with Cody Rhodes, who has a little bit of stroke over there. To come out and do that for a month, do a couple of matches, do a pay-per-view, it was a lot of fun just to be out there and to be me again. I loved it and hopefully, we'll do it again soon," Cardona said.

Cardona remained complimentary of his time in the promotion and really appreciated being treated like a star:

"It was a lot of fun just being there and people were like, 'Oh, you look like you gained all this weight and you look so much bigger.' I think Hawkins (Brian Myers) said it best. [AEW] treated me like a star right off the gate with the entrance and the pyro. Usually, I'm already in the ring in the corner, but it's all about perception and they treated me like I deserved to be treated and I really appreciated that."
