NWA's Eddie Kingston Answers Cody's TNT Championship Open Challenge On DYNAMITE, But Comes Up Short

None other than Eddie Kingston showed up on AEW Dynamite last night to challenge Cody for the TNT Championship. The veteran, who is widely considered to be one of the best talkers in the business today, cut a passionate and scathing promo on The American Nightmare and Arn Anderson, goading his opponent into accepting a no holds batted match.

Kingston took full advantage of the stipulation, repeatedly raking the eyes and resorting to various other underhanded tactics - including a blatant low blow - in an effort to win the title. At one point, Eddie even pulled out a bag of thumbtacks and powerbombed Cody right on them.

That still wasn't enough to keep Rhodes down, though, and he was ultimately able to lock the Figure Four on the injured knee of Kingston , forcing him to tap out.

As far as we know, "The King" is still under contact with NWA, but he did strongly hint in a post-match promo that we would be seeing him in AEW again.
