Last week, former IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer made a powerful statement.

All Elite Wrestling’s newest talent simply destroyed Marko Stunt and showcased why he’s a man to fear in the eight-man TNT Championship tournament. Following his impressive debut on Dynamite, Jake Roberts speaks about Cody Rhodes ignoring the “Murderhawk Monster” and how Archer is going to destroy every man that gets in his way.

This Wednesday, the former best friends will collide once again. After Spears shocked the world at Fyter Fest by blasting a steel chair to Cody Rhodes’ head, which opened a big gash and required the AEW Executive Vice President to get twelve stitches, many thought that the former WWE star would be a force to be reckoned with in AEW.

However, following his loss to the Georgia native at All Out, Spears hasn’t made much of a splash in the promotion, with his search to find a new tag team partner failing each and every week. For the Canada native, his quarter-final match-up against the 34-year-old is more than just a match, it’s a new chance to make a statement within AEW, and more importantly, become the first-ever TNT Champion.

For Rhodes, the third-generation star enters the contest confident that he’ll put away the veteran once again. Rhodes is looking to fill the void of not being able to challenge for the AEW World title anymore, and becoming the TNT Champion will indeed to do that.
