For the first time ever, Alex Shelley will face Dan Maff at Gateway to Honor in St. Louis on Feb. 29.
For Shelley, the former ROH World Tag Team Champion is looking to get back into world title contention after failing to defeat Matt Taven at Summer Supercard of Honor. Following the big show in August, Shelley hasn’t been able to gain much momentum; however, the 36-year-old hopes to change that with his match against Maff.
For Maff, the 46-year-old wants to continue to prove that he can hang with the young stars of today. Since Maff’s return in late 2019, he’s been showcasing his skills against talents such as Jeff Cobb and The Briscoe Brothers. The former ROH World Tag Team Champion would like to get into world title contention as well and defeating Alex Shelley would surely get him one step closer to his goal.
