It’s official, Cody Rhodes will get a second chance to take down MJF’s mercenaries, The Blade and The Butcher.
This past Wednesday, the AEW Executive Vice President teamed with QT Marshall and fought the new tag team. Both men gave it their all, with Marshall particularly standing out during his hot comeback sequence; however, the duo was no match for the established team of The Blade & The Butcher.
Once the match came to an end, Darby Allin walked down and helped Rhodes up from the ground, signaling that the AEW Executive Vice President does have a friend that’s willing to stand by his side and fight against the nightmarish duo.
Allin revealed his reasoning for assisting Rhodes on social media, stating that he would like a rematch against the 34-year-old when they win the battle against MJF’s hired guns. Now, the tag team match is official, as Cody Rhodes & Darby Allin will take on The Blade & The Butcher on this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
In what’s expected to be the final show for AEW in 2019, Dynamite is jam packed with a AEW World Tag Team title match involving the Young Bucks and SCU’s Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian headlining the event.
