Former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Shinjiro Otani will make his way to the MLW arena.

The veteran has wrestled throughout the independent scene in Japan since 1992, with the 47-year-old having a notable stint in New Japan Pro Wrestling from 1992 to 2001. In addition to being a former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Otani also held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship twice as well.

Otani now wrestles for Pro Wrestling ZERO 1, and the wrestling legend is confirmed to fight Davey Boy Smith Jr. in the 2019 Opera Cup in New York City. Who will come out victorious in the first round of the tournament? We’ll find out on the December 5 MLW Fusion tapings taking place at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City.
