An intriguing #1 contender’s match has been added to the 18th Anniversary show on March 13.
Ring of Honor confirmed that former ROH World Television Champion Shane Taylor, Kenny King, Dan Maff, and Bateman will compete in a four-way bout called Dealer’s Choice, with the winner getting a title shot of their choosing.
Both King and Taylor are no strangers to championship gold, as the ROH stars have previously held the ROH World Television Championship. The latter is coming off a lengthy seven-month reign in 2019 where he dominated most of his matches until Dragon Lee surprised Taylor by getting the upset win at Final Battle.
For King, he’s held the belt twice, along with the ROH World Tag Team Championships; however, the 38-year-old hasn’t won a title since 2018 and is desperately looking to get back what he thinks should be his.
Maff and Bateman are the recent newcomers of the promotion, and while the 46-year-old is a former ROH World Tag Team Champion, Maff won the belt over 15 years ago. Bateman has yet to win any gold within the promotion; however, the unhinged but talented individual is certainly on the cusp of becoming a champion soon.
