An ROH newcomer will get a chance to make a big impression in his debut as Fred Yehi is the latest name confirmed for the ROH Pure Championship tournament.
Yehi is a relative newcomer on the indie circuit, though he’s no stranger to holding championships; The Georgia native has previously competed in Major League Wrestling, EVOLVE, Full Impact Pro, and Anarchy Wrestling. Yehi is a former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion – with ROH star Tracy Williams. He’s also previously held the FIP World Heavyweight Championship and AIWF America’s Heavyweight Championship.
The 28-year-old joins Marty “The Villain” Scurll, Tracy Williams, Slex, Alex Shelley, Mark Haskins, Jonathan Gresham, Doug Williams, and Rocky Romero for a chance to make history and become the first Pure Champion since 2006. The Pure Championship tournament begins on Friday, April 10 in Columbus and Saturday, April 11 in Pittsburgh.
Touted as one of the best technical wrestlers on the indie scene, will Fred Yehi out wrestle fifteen other men and become the next ROH Pure Champion? We’ll find out soon!
