On the latest edition of Grillin' JR with Jim Ross and Conrad Thompson, the WWE Hall of Famer took a number of questions from fans. Along the way, he revealed that he credits All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan for saving his life by giving him a job and a purpose as
Dynamite's lead commentator.
That may seem extreme but Ross has talked a lot in the past about how the tragic death of his wife Jan left him in a dark place and how keeping busy managed to distract him.
"I love to travel," Ross said. "Tony Khan saved my life, I believe that. Because I like getting up now and going somewhere. Every Tuesday morning I’m up at 4 or 5 o’clock at the latest to catch a plane, first flight out, boom I’m going to the city to have our production meeting on Tuesday night and then our show on Wednesday. So I got a direction now and a destination."
That's great to hear and it's fair to say that Ross has been doing some of the best work of his career calling the action on AEW. It's also given the company a huge boost as many wrestling fans out there credit the WWE Hall of Famer as being the greatest commentator of all-time.
You can hear Ross every week on All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite on TNT.
