Sad news from this past weekend, as AAA's La Parka passed away.
The Lucha Libre AAA star was critically injured during a four-way match against RUSH, Murder Clown, and LA Park while wrestling at Kaoz Lucha Libre's 64 Anniversary Arena Coliseum event in Monterrey on Oct. 20, 2019.
The 56-year-old attempted a suicide dive onto RUSH, but his feet got caught on the ropes. His head ended up smacking onto the concrete outside of the ring. He was diagnosed with a neck and cervical fracture. In the days after the accident, Parka was unable to talk and move his extremities, but would eventually be able to communicate and regain feeling in his arms and legs.
The Lucha Libre legend has been in the wrestling business since 1987, and was a main stay in Lucha Libre AAA. La Parka also for wrestled for promotions such as DDT Pro-Wrestling and International Wrestling Revolution Group. We would like to send our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of La Parka.
