Founded In 2002 by Court Bauer, the Major League Wrestling promotion dubbed itself as "the most violent, hard-hitting action mixed with cutting edge storylines".
Now, after resurfacing back in 2017, Major League Wrestling has signed a new television deal with national network beIN Sports, to air a new MLW show titled “Friday Night Fury.” According to Sports Illustrated.
The show is set to premiere on April 20th at 8pm EST, with a replay showing on the same night at 11pm EST.
“We’ve been in talks since the fall, and they were very impressed with our product,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “We offer a different presentation because we identify ourselves as a combat sport, but we have a lot more creative freedom than every other combat sport to give the most high-octane presentation.”
According to the report, the shows will be taped as the MLW will record a monthly broadcast and then assemble its weekly programming from there. The front office for the show will also include Bruce Prichard, who previously worked for WWE for over twenty years and has worked for TNA/Impact Wrestling.
Finally, the report adds the talent roster will boast Lucha Underground stars Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix as series regulars.
“We worked something out with Lucha Underground and AAA to have Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix as regulars on the TV series. That’s such an appealing aspect to have those two features as part of our core roster,” said Bauer.
