Ring of Honor confirmed that Mark Haskins will join Alex Shelley, Rocky Romero, Jonathan Gresham, and Doug Williams in the 16-man Pure Championship tournament.
The 31-year-old has yet to win gold within ROH; however, Haskins is a highly decorated competitor on the independent scene. Haskins has previously worked for Revolution Pro Wrestling, Over The Top Wrestling, Progress Wrestling, and Frontline Wrestling, and the United Kingdom native has won multiple championships in each promotion.
Haskins is a former Frontline Heavyweight Champion, Progress World Champion, RPW British Cruiserweight Champion, and OTT No Limits Champion. The ROH star has come close to winning the World Championship on several occasions; however, he ultimately came up short against Jay Lethal and Matt Taven.
However, Haskins' career has been on an upswing since his big victory over former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray at Final Battle. Will the ROH star outlast 15 other men and finally capture gold in the promotion? The Ring of Honor Pure Championship tournament begins at Pure Excellence on Friday, April 10 in Columbus and Saturday, April 11 in Pittsburgh.
