Plans for Marty Scurll in AEW have been revealed.

It’s been confirmed that the former ROH World Television Champion had inked a lucrative multi-year contract with Ring of Honor; however, prior to the announcement of his re-signing, Scurll was pegged by many to join AEW.

Since late 2019, The Dark Order has been slowly building up, with Evil Uno revealing that there’s a higher power within the faction. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Scurll was set to be revealed as the leader on the final 2019 episode following the huge beat down.

Of course, plans have changed and the company continues to slowly build up the reveal of The Dark Order leader on Dynamite. At the moment, there’s been huge speculation that Matt Hardy – who’s contract with the WWE ends on March 1st – will end up being the leader for the faction.

Hardy himself has alluded to leaving the WWE over the last couple of months; however, the former WWE Tag Team Champion can always re-sign with the company within the following months. The issues between Hardy and WWE aren’t with money, as the 45-year-old is reportedly looking to gain creative control over his character.
