Welcome to one of the many wrestling shows taking place during WrestleMania weekend. This is Josh Barnett’s Blood Sport, which is professional wrestling in a ring with no ropes. The rules include no pins. Fights are stopped based on knockouts, submissions, or disqualifications.
The first match-up is Phil Baroni vs. Dominic Garrini. Baroni was the heel in this contest, which ultimately back fired in the end. Phil originally had the bout won after knocking out Garrini; however, the decision was reversed when Baroni put his hands on the referee.
The next bout was Simon Gotch (former WWE star) vs. JR Kratos. This was a fun bout that saw Gotch lose via knockout after a big punch to the head.
Killer Kross (IMPACT Wrestling) vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. (MLW) took place with Smith Jr. winning with a crossface. Very good match that showcased the talents of both Smith Jr. and Kross very well.
Jonathan Gresham (ROH) vs. Masashi Takeda was up next. Another very good bout with the crowd hot for Takeda all match, who’s mostly known for his death matches in Big Japan Pro Wrestling. Takeda defeated Gresham with a brutal looking knee to the head.
Andy Williams vs. Chris Dickinson then took place, with both talents delivering a short, but fun fight that was filled with back-and-forth punches and slaps. Dickinson won via submission with a rear naked choke.
The professional wrestling debut of Frank Mir was next, as he took on Dan Severn in a solid, but unremarkable bout. Mir won via submission with a kneebar.
Hideki Suzuki vs. Timothy Thatcher was another solid encounter that ended with Thatcher selling a big suplex that ultimately resulted in the referee calling for the bell. Suzuki won via referee stoppage.
And last but not least, the main event match between Minoru Suzuki and Josh Barnett. Excellent contest that ended in a time limit draw. Both guys went to war and produced a memorable bout that capped off a good evening of wrestling.
