The International Women’s Cup match has been finalized.
For the past month, women on the AEW, ROH, and CMLL roster have been competing for a four-way match inside the Tokyo Dome on January 5th. Athena successfully cashed her ticket in first by beating Billie Starkz, Red Velvet, and Layla Hirsch.
Then Jamie Hayter and Willow Nightingale met for the first time ever and the former TBS Champion continued her strong momentum by getting a pinfall victory over the former AEW Women’s World Champion.
The final two participants were finalized over the past week. CMLL’s Persephone successfully won a four-way elimination against Zeuxis, Sanely, and Reyna Isis. Momo Watanabe won her respective qualifying match by beating Hanan, Saki Kashima, and Yuna Mizumori this past Sunday.
Athena vs. Willow Nightingale vs. Momo Watanabe vs. Persephone is officially set unless something changes. It should be interesting to see how this match plays out especially since Athena is currently on a historic title run.
