New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Ren Narita will make his ROH debut during the upcoming Pure Championship tournament.

Narita is a relative newcomer trained under the young lion system in NJPW. The New Japan Dojo has produced some of the greatest talents in the world such as Jushin “Thunder” Liger, Shibata, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and The Great Muta.

The Japan native took part of The Young Lion Cup last year and though he didn’t win the overall tournament, Narita tied with Shota Umino at 10 points for second place. Since that time, the rising star has mostly competed in tag team matches through New Japan Pro-Wrestling, with the Pure Championship tournament being his first crack at gold.

Narita may lack the in-ring experience like Yuji Nagata, Alex Shelley, and Doug Williams; however, the NJPW star has proven that he can be a big player in the years to come. Will Narita shock the professional wrestling world by winning the 16-man tournament and become the next Pure Champion?

Ren Narita joins Joe Hendry, Yuji Nagata, Fred Yehi, Marty “The Villain” Scurll, Tracy Williams, Slex, Alex Shelley, Mark Haskins, Jonathan Gresham, Doug Williams, and Rocky Romero for a chance to make history and become the first Pure Champion since 2006.
