Now it’s time to watch three classic Samoa Joe matches in Ring of Honor.

Like Kevin Owens, the former WWE United States Champion has had a storied character in and outside of WWE as Joe was one of the main staples in Ring of Honor since his debut in 2002.

The 41-year-old quickly rose through the rankings of the heavyweight division following his debut and defeated Xavier to capture the ROH World Championship. Joe would go on to keep the belt for 21 months.

The three classic matches ROH has uploaded featured a unforgettable contest between him and Japanese legend Kenta Kobashi. It was dubbed the best match of 2005 by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and is still considered an all-time great by many.

In the second match-up, fresh off his departure from Impact Wrestling, the “Samoan Submission Machine” challenged then ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe at the company’s Supercard of Honor event in 2015. Finally, before Joe would move on to the Performance Center in Florida, the in-ring veteran fought Kyle O’Reilly in a string of farewell matches in ROH.
