Sexy Star Claims That She's The Inspiration Behind The Women's Evolution In WWE

In a truly surprising and bold statement, former Lucha Underground wrestler Sexy Star believes that her title win in LU inspired the women’s evolution in WWE.

After essentially being blacklisted from a good portion of the wrestling community due to breaking Rosemary’s arm in a shoot incident during a match in 2017, the former professional wrestler has been testing the waters in boxing and MMA and has been fairly successful thus far.

During an interview on the Roman Show, Star made these exact comments about WWE taking notice of women’s wrestling thanks to her winning the LU championship (transcript courtesy of wrestletalk.com):

 “WWE took notice. I am proud that they gave me that opportunity as a woman, as a Mexican and as a warrior. I felt they (WWE) found out that that had a big buzz all over the world. I think it inspired them to act.”

As you can imagine, this didn’t go over too well with many in the professional wrestling community, as several talents such as Shane Helms, NWA Worlds Heavyweight champion Nick Aldis, Tessa Blanchard, and many more responded to the interview:
