This Sunday for the first-time ever, the ROH-NJPW G1 Special in Madison Square Garden will air on Ring of Honor’s Youtube channel. This night changed the landscape of wrestling, with the stars of both New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor going all out to deliver an unforgettable show.
In the co-main event of the evening, Jay Lethal defended the ROH World Championship against Matt Taven and Marty “The Villain” Scurll in a Three-way ladder match. This contest solidified Taven as a main event star as the former Kingdom member stood out and showcased why he belonged in the same ring as Scurll and Lethal.
2019 New Japan Cup winner Kazuchika Okada fought Jay White for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the main event. Despite winning the 32-man tournament to earn his title match, the Bullet Club leader had the advantage over Okada coming in, thanks to several key victories including at Wrestle Kingdom 13.
Elsewhere on the pay-per-view card, Will Ospreay and Jeff Cobb had a wild opener for the Never Openweight and ROH World Television Championships, a fun and fast paced Triple Threat match between Taiji Ishimori, Dragon Lee, and Bandido for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship took place, and so much more!
