The ROH Pure Championship tournament has just finished their latest first-round matches.

Coming in, six men had advanced into the semi-final rounds of the 16-man tournament as former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Matt Sydal, Fred Yehi, Josh Woods and David Finlay still have a shot at winning the prestigious belt. After the latest show, The tournament has now been condensed down to 8 competitors with Rust Taylor, PJ Black, Tony Deppen, and Tracy Williams competing for the final two spots.

That wasn’t the only big news coming out of the latest ROH show as a vignette played hyping up former TNA World Heavyweight Champion EC3. It was reported back in August by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that the 37-year-old was set to make his debut during the upcoming ROH television tapings. Like in Impact, EC3 will be using be “control your narrative” gimmick that he’s been doing since his WWE release.

Its unknown if EC3 has a long-term deal with ROH. Currently, the former WWE star is working without a contract in Impact Wrestling, but EC3 has stated in several interviews that he wants to work for several different companies.

Check out the quick results and some video from Day Four of the Pure Championship tournament:
