After getting the victory over The Blade and The Butcher, Darby Allin will get his wish and fight Cody Rhodes on the first edition of AEW Dynamite in 2020.

While the duo struggled a bit to take down MJF’s hired guns, both men eventually prevailed over the tag team. Allin took out The Butcher with a coffin drop and Rhodes nailed a springboard cutter that resulted in a three count.

Now, the men will go back to being rivals on January 1st. In his debut match with the promotion, Allin wrestled Cody at Fyter Fest; The former EVOLVE star showcased his underdog spirit throughout the match-up, and ultimately survived long enough for the bout to end in a time limit draw.

That’s not the only match confirmed for the first show of the new year, as Kris Statlander defeated Britt Baker in a number one contender’s match. She’ll challenge Riho for the AEW Women’s Championship.
