Unfortunately, Matt Taven didn’t get the Climax that he wanted at Final Battle.

In a very personal match, former Kingdom members Matt Taven and Vincent fought throughout the arena. The former ROH World Champion was looking for revenge after the vile attacks by Vincent, who made it clear that their days as tag partners were long over.

The match-up was very stiff, with all kinds of kicks and punches to the head from both men. At one point, Taven hit his finisher, the Climax, but Vincent had enough strength to kick out as the referee was counting.

In the end, Taven's emotions got the best of him, as the former ROH World Champion grabbed an axe – which Vincent used several weeks ago to beat him to a bloody pulp – but Vincent countered the attack into his finisher and got the three count.

The story between Taven and Vincent wasn’t finished once the bell rang; however, ROH’s newest acquisition, Tyler Bateman, appeared in the ring and nailed a tombstone on the former ROH World Champion. Vincent would get the last laugh by smashing a chair over Taven’s injured leg.
