Amanda Nunes will officially defend the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title against Felicia Spencer on June 6, according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN. Originally, the championship bout was scheduled for UFC 250; however, the match-up had to be postponed due to the coronavirus situation.
Nunes is stepping into the octagon for the first time since her victory over Germaine de Randamie at UFC 245. The two-division champion hasn’t lost a fight in six years, defeating top talents such as Miesha Tate (via submission at UFC 200), Ronda Rousey (via TKO at UFC 207), Cris Cyborg (via KO at UFC 232), and Holly Holm (via TKO at UFC 239) along the way. Nunes’ professional record currently stands at 19 wins and 4 losses.
Despite suffering a loss to Cris Cyborg at UFC 240, Spencer was able to bounce back with an impressive TKO victory over Zarah Fairn Dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 169. Spencer’s only loss inside the octagon remains against Cyborg, with the featherweight beating Megan Anderson (via submission at UFC Fight Night 152) in her debut and walking out victorious against each fighter that’s crossed her path in Invicta FC. Spencer’s professional record currently stands at 8 wins and 1 loss.
