Conor McGregor has announced that he's retired from MMA.
“Hey guys I’ve decided to retire from fighting,” the two-division UFC Champion said in a Tweet earlier today. “Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been! Here is a picture of myself and my mother in Las Vegas post one of my World title wins! Pick the home of your dreams Mags I love you! Whatever you desire it’s yours.”
This is not the first time the Irish fighter has "retired." In 2016, he announced that he had “decided to retire young” during his reign as featherweight champion after being defeated by Nate Diaz via submission in a non-title fight, before deciding to return to the octagon again just a few days later. Then, in 2019, he called it a day again (this was believed to be a negotiation tactic) before reversing his decision and going up against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in January of this year and knocking him out in just 40 seconds.
Maybe he really means it this time, but we're sure it wouldn't take much to get him back in the cage!
