Eric Spicely is gone from the UFC.

Originally, the middleweight was set to fight Markus Perez at UFC Vegas 5 last weekend; however, Spicely was forced to withdraw from the event due to "weight management issues," according to the UFC. Later that day, Spicely explained that he began taking antidepressants due to the head trauma he sustained during his fight against Deron Winn and his weight cut went "horribly wrong."

This was actually the second time that Spicely was released from the promotion. The 33-year-old got his start back in season 23 of The Ultimate Fighter. While Spicely was eliminated in the semi-finals by Andrew Sanchez, UFC still offered him a contract deal.

Spicely managed to get a huge win over Thiago Santos and Alessio Di Chirico; however, those victories was followed up with three consecutive losses to Antônio Carlos Júnior, Gerald Meerschaert, and Darren Stewart. He was released a short time later. Spicely made his return to the company after a brief stint in Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES MMA).

He failed to win his short notice fight against Deron Winn back in 2019. Spicely never got a chance to get back into the octagon as the middleweight was forced to withdraw from a bout against Brendan Allen in October 2019. His professional record currently stands at 12 wins and 5 losses.
