A new preliminary bout is confirmed for next month’s UFC 251 pay-per-view as Makwan Amirkhani will take on Danny Henry.
Amirkhani is hoping to bounce back after his loss to Shane Burgos at UFC 244. Prior to his UFC 244 bout, the featherweight had a solid two-fight winning streak going by dropping Jason Knight (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 130) and Chris Fishgold (via submission at UFC Fight Night 153). Overall, Amirkhani has gotten three wins in his last five fights, also beating Mike Wilkinson at UFC Fight Night 84. His professional record currently stands at 15 wins and 4 losses.
Henry’s momentum was halted by Dan Ige at UFC Fight Night 147. Before the devastating loss, the featherweight was on a five-fight winning streak, beating Daniel Teymur (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 113) and Hakeem Dawodu (via technical submission at UFC Fight Night 127). The remaining wins come from the fighter’s time in Extreme Fighting Championship. Henry’s professional record currently stands at 12 wins and 3 losses.
UFC 251 will take place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi with Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns for the welterweight title in the main event. Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will fight for the featherweight championship in the co-main event, and Petr Yan and Jose Aldo will compete for the vacant bantamweight title.
