A new middleweight fight has been confirmed as Anthony Hernandez will take on Kevin Holland in Jacksonville, Florida.
Hernandez was first discovered on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series and the middleweight has been a mixed bag since making his official UFC debut in 2018. The 26-year-old lost his bout via submission against Markus Perez at UFC Fight Night 144; however, Hernandez rebounded by getting a submission win over Jun Yong Park at UFC Fight Night 157.
Prior to his UFC debut, Hernandez made a name for himself down in Legacy Fighting Alliance and Global Knockout. His professional record currently stands at 7 wins and 1 loss.
Holland also came from Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series and has fared better during his UFC run thus far. While the California native suffered losses against Thiago Santos (via unanimous decision UFC 227) and Brendan Allen (via submission at UFC on ESPN 6), Holland has won his fights against John Phillips (via submission at UFC Fight Night 141), Gerald Meerschaert (via split decision at UFC on ESPN 2), and Alessio Di Chirico (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 154). Holland’s professional record stands at 16 wins and 5 losses.
The UFC Fight Night show takes place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. The card is expected to air on ESPN and stream on ESPN+.
