Unfortunately, Mike Davis has been pulled from his bout against Giga Chikadze.

The featherweight is forced to withdraw from his bout against the fighter due to problems with cutting weight. Davis and Chikadze were previously scheduled to fight at UFC Fight Night Norfolk on February 29; however, the bout was scrapped due to Davis pulling out because of injury.

Officials are reportedly looking for a replacement; however, Chikadze may have to be rebooked for another event as UFC Fight Night 172 is less than two days away. There’s no word on who could potentially fight the featherweight.

Chikadze is currently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak, besting Brandon Davis (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 160) and Jamall Emmers (via split decision at UFC 248) since arriving in the promotion in early 2019.  Davis was coming into the contest with some momentum himself as the featherweight beat Thomas Gifford via knockout at UFC Fight Night 161.

UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris takes place on Saturday, May 16 from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Claudia Gadelha vs. Angela Hill will co-main event the special show.
