This time we revisit the UFC Middleweight Championship fight between Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida.
Coming off his stunning win over Anderson Silva at UFC 162, Weidman managed to silence the critics once and for all by beating Silva once again at UFC 168. At this point in his career, the New York native was undefeated in the octagon, also beating Alessio Sakara (via unanimous decision at UFC on Versus 3), Jesse Bongfeldt (via submission at UFC 131), Tom Lawlor (via technical submission at UFC 139), Demian Maia (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 2), and Mark Muñoz (via KO at UFC on Fuel TV 4) before his win over the Brazilian native.
Machida was no stranger to holding titles within the promotion as the MMA veteran was a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Since making his debut in the middleweight division, Machida successfully defeated Mark Muñoz (via KO at UFC Fight Night 30) and then Gegard Mousasi (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 36) before meeting Weidman at UFC 175.
Not surprisingly, the two fighters had an action-packed back-and-forth contest that saw Weidman continue on with his undefeated streak by getting the unanimous decision victory over Machida. Check out the middleweight title match below:
