The UFC 249 pay-per-view card takes another hit.
The upcoming event in two weeks recently cancelled the main event between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC Lightweight title due to the champion being unable to travel because of a lockdown in Russia; however, a preliminary bout between Lyman Good and Belal Muhammad is now off the card as well.
According to MMA Fighting, Good suffered an injury during training; however, the nature of the injury is being kept secret at the moment. Muhammad is expected to remain on the pay-per-view card as officials are looking for a replacement. There’s no word on who could potentially fight the welterweight at the show.
The 31-year-old is in the midst of a two-fight winning streak, coming off a unanimous decision win over Curtis Millender (UFC 236) and a submission victory over Takashi Sato (UFC 242). Despite suffering a setback in his fight against Geoff Neal at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, Muhammad has won four out of his last five fights.
At the moment, UFC 249 is still scheduled for April 18th with UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson headlining the show. Speculation is that Justin Gaethje could end up fighting Ferguson at the pay-per-view; however, an opponent has yet to be confirmed.
