On Saturday night, there was some speculation among fans that the finish of the Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn was changed due to the latter being injured. During the media call after the event, The Game even pointed to it being altered on the fly because of Gargano's knee injury and said that the popular wrestler would be assessed later this week.

Well, it turns out he may have been lying to us! According to Dave Meltzer, a couple of people in WWE have told him that the finish actually went exactly as planned and Triple H was just working an angle. The same thing happened last month when it was said that Lars Sullivan broke his jaw after a match with Aleister Black and it turns out there may actually be a very good reason for this happening.

Apparently, Triple H is looking to once again blur the line between fantasy and reality to ensure that fans don't always know what's happening and can actually be surprised rather than being wise to what's planned beforehand. This is no bad thing and it's easy to see why Triple H would want to bring back kayfabe...even if he was one of the first wrestlers to break it after the infamous curtain call!
