Well, Matt Riddle isn't giving up on facing Brock Lesnar.
As previously reported, the Universal Champion and the NXT star got into a verbal altercation backstage with sources stating that Lesnar told Riddle,
"Kid, you might as well stop saying my name and tagging me in s--t because you and I will never work together. Ever."
While there’s no doubt that the “Beast Incarnate” has enough sway to ensure that him and Riddle never meet inside the squared circle, that doesn’t mean that the “King of Bros” is gonna stop trying to pick a fight with the Universal Champion. For years, Riddle hasn’t been shy to say that he wanted to be the man to retire the 42-year-old, with the NXT superstar stating in a
New York Post article that he wants to be the man that breaks Lesnar:
“At the beginning it was just a gimmick. You know, a goal of mine,” Riddle said.
“One, I wanted to do it when I saw him beat The Undertaker. So he beat the streak at WrestleMania. So right there he solidified himself in WWE history just by doing that. And then when I see him, I just see a guy who’s kind of like bullied everyone from Day 1, and I hate bullies. I know it sounds cliche, but literally the reason I fought is dudes like that fight and I love breaking dudes and watching them go from a bully to a child and be like, ‘Now, how does it feel?’
“And honestly, I want to break him. I want to break him and show the world him break and I want to beat him and I want to be the one because I think I’m the only one who can carry what he’s done and not like he’s carried it but in a better way.”
While Riddle fighting Lesnar may never happen, that doesn’t mean that the WWE isn’t going to take advantage of the story that continues to dominate headlines. Following his altercation with Lesnar at the RR, Riddle addresses the situation and makes it clear that he isn’t taking no for an answer:
