Here is a breakdown of the results from tonight's episode of NXT for August 29, 2018:

— William Regal is officially starting the investigation regarding the attack on Aleister Black.

— Johnny Gargano, on crutches, cuts a promo about how he's turning into Tommaso Ciampa, and he needs to get him out of his head. Regal comes out to ask Gargano if he attacked Aleister Black. Gargano tells him to look into his eyes and he'll know the answer. The Velveteen Dream interrupts and calls him Johnny Failure. Regal books a match between the two for next week.

— Dakota Kai defeated Aliyah by pinfall.

— Regal's investigation continues. It seems Velveteen Dream has been ruled out. The Forgotten Sons are next to be spoken to and they pitch their story. Regal gives them a tag team match next week, as they're looking for an opportunity.

— EC3 is shown having been taken out by Lars Sullivan backstage.

— Nikki Cross tells Regal she knows who attacked Black, but she's acting too much like a lunatic to get any answers out of. Bianca Belair comes into the office to ask for an NXT Women's Championship shot.

— Lars Sullivan comes out to beat down Raul Mendoza.

— Keith Lee defeated Luke Menzies by pinfall

— The Undisputed ERA (Roderick Strong and Adam Cole) defeated Ricochet and Pete Dunne by pinfall. After the match, they attack Dunne and Ricochet until War Raiders make the save.
