It appears that NXT will be taking a different approach to their programming for the time being.

As you can imagine, both RAW and Smackdown have had a bit of a difficult time balancing their live events due to the short notice change of holding closed off arena shows. Below is the exact statement made by a WWE Spokesperson to Mike Johnson of PWInsider:

“Tomorrow night’s NXT will air as regularly scheduled in a modified format with elements ranging from in-depth character profiles and story breakdowns as well as never-before-seen interviews and content.”

Word coming out of the live event on Smackdown was that Vince McMahon wasn’t a big fan of the talents not wrestling in front of a live crowd, which is why RAW was scaled back on the in-ring action.

There’s no word on whether this was Triple H’s or Vince McMahon's call; however, NXT should be a very interesting program tomorrow. With NXT TakeOver: Tampa no longer taking place during WrestleMania weekend, the direction for the black and yellow brand could end up changing a bit.

Based off the statement above, the format sounds akin to Dynamite’s “Road To” weekly mini-documentary series. We’ll see what happens on the USA Network this Wednesday.
