After costing Tommaso Ciampa an opportunity to win the NXT Championship at TakeOver: Portland, Johnny Gargano has once again found himself on a collision course with his former friend and tag-team partner.

This past Wednesday, Gargano sat down with Mauro Ranallo for an interview, and things soon got heated. Johnny believes the NXT announcer is well aware of the reason for his betrayal, but by admitting it he would come across as a liar and a hypocrite. He also takes exception to Mauro referring to him as "Johnny Turncoat" during his commentary.

At the end of the interview, Gargano looks straight into the camera and teases another confrontation with Ciampa next week.

There was quite a bit of backlash to this feud kicking off again, but there's no denying the magic these guys are able to conjure when they lock up in the ring, and the role reversal is sure to add an intriguing wrinkle.

It remains to be seen if the NXT faithful will accept Gargano as a heel (they tried before), but this excellent segment is a good start.
