Triple H Challenges Pat McAfee To Meet Adam Cole In The Ring At NXT TAKEOVER: XXX

We anticipated some kind of face-off between Adam Cole and Pat McAfee at NXT TakeOver: XXX, and it looks like the long-time enemies will indeed be settling their differences in the ring.

Triple H joined ESPN’s “Get Up” this morning to deliver a major challenge for the former NFL "Punter," inviting him to meet the Panama City Playboy in the ring at the upcoming PPV event. McAfee has yet to respond, but it's surely only a matter of time.

Will we see an actual match? Probably nothing substantial, but McAfee has had some wrestling training, so he may well take a couple of bumps.

McAfee is clearly playing the heel here, which has led to fans wondering if Adam Cole has now turned face. He certainly seems to be in this situation, but it'll be interesting to see if the rest of the UE blame him for their loss after becoming distracted by his ringside scuffle. Does this signal a parting of ways for the stable? We'll have to wait and see.

NXT TakeOver: XXX takes place on August 22 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
