It was reported last week that ‘The Smokeshow’ Scarlett Bordeaux had requested her release. The reasoning behind the Impact knockout wanting out of the company is still unclear, though it was highlighted that her contract is not guaranteed as she only gets paid per appearance, which is essentially the same deal Killer Kross is under.

It was originally reported that Bordeaux’s contract was set to end in the summer, thus she would’ve been able to leave whether Impact granted her a release or not; however, the latest word from PWInsider is that the female talent is actually under a multi-year contract with the promotion.

Bordeaux’s release has yet to be granted, though it wouldn’t be a surprise if the company turns it down. Scarlett has been one of the centerpieces of the company since her debut last year and has proven to be a hit amongst many fans of the promotion.

It was stated in the situation for Killer Kross that management wasn’t looking to grant releases any time soon and given her status with the company, Bordeaux may have to continue on until her deal expires.
