Last night marked John Cena's final appearance on RAW as an active WWE Superstar. With the show emanating from New York's Madison Square Garden, there were plenty of celebrities in the crowd, including Stephanie McMahon.
However, she wasn't the only McMahon in the crowd. While he wasn't sat at ringside—presumably to keep a low profile—Shane McMahon was at RAW with his son to take in the Leader of the Cenation's last-ever match on the Monday night show.
Did he buy a ticket to the show? We'd have to believe that, despite sitting several rows back as a "fan," Shane was also there to hang out backstage and see his sister, Stephanie, and brother-in-law, Triple H.
As far as we're aware, there's no bad blood between these members of the McMahon family, even with Triple H taking on the executive role that most expected Shane would one day have. However, Shane has a complicated relationship with his father, disgraced former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, so there's likely a lot to that story we'll never know.
Last year, speculation ran rampant that Shane might decide to sign a contract with AEW. He and Tony Khan were spotted meeting, with the implication being that a McMahon could end up being "All Elite."
"Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting," Shane later said. "We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five-year anniversary of AEW and look forward to see how he evolves the business moving forward."
We've since heard that Shane was interested in running AEW, despite having relatively little knowledge about the product. However, despite Jonathan Coachman's claim that Khan ghosted him, it's been said that Shane wasn't too bothered when the billionaire failed to get back to him to further discuss his offer.
Stephanie McMahon has recently started making regular appearances on WWE programming again, so time will tell whether Shane joins her or continues to keep a relatively low profile.
Rumours continue to swirl that both Vince McMahon and President Donald Trump will be in attendance for Cena's final match at next month's Saturday Night's Main Event show.
