As you're no doubt already well aware, Jason Jordan has been put on the shelf after undergoing surgery for ongoing neck issues. While there was hope that he might recover in time for WrestleMania, his "father" Kurt Angle announced on RAW this Monday that he won't be able to compete at the event.
However, Dave Meltzer has now revealed that there were actually plans as late as last Thursday for Jordan to do battle with Seth Rollins at the Showcase of the Immortals in New Orleans this April.
"You know as late as Thursday [Jason Jordan] was still hoping to wrestle Rollins at WrestleMania," he confirmed before explaining that while Jordan's injury is legitimate, it's worth bearing in mind how WWE used Rollins' own knee injury last year to tease fans with the possibility that he wouldn't be able to battle Triple H, a match he went on to win at WrestleMania in impressive fashion.
Unfortunately, for Jordan, it sounds like WWE officials have now moved on. "I got the impression that between putting Rollins in [the Elimination Chamber] and everything that they’ve changed the direction for Rollins, but we’ll see." You never know what might happen but, for now, it seems we can forget about Jordan competing at WrestleMania, especially with the event just months away.
