Becky Lynch And Kevin Owens Become Latest WWE Superstars To Break Silence On Vince McMahon Scandal

Becky Lynch and Kevin Owens are the latest WWE Superstars to share their thoughts on the Vince McMahon scandal, with both making it clear they're appalled by the allegation surrounding their former boss.

Last month, Vince McMahon was forced to step down from his role as WWE Executive Chairman after being hit by a lawsuit full of horrendous sexual abuse allegations.

Former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis and Brock Lesnar were also caught up in the claims, though this is likely the beginning of the end for McMahon. Lawyers are already appealing for more women to come forward and while criminal charges could come next, Vince's time with WWE is well and truly over; Endeavor owns the company now, so it's no longer possible for him to force his way back in.

Doing the rounds to promote this past weekend's Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia, Mail Online asked both Kevin Owens and Becky Lynch to weigh in on the heinous accusations their former boss is facing.

"Everything that has come out is awful. Just terrible," Owens said. "There’s really no words to describe how sad this makes me feel. If the people spoke out went through what they went through, that’s terrible. It’s shameful and it can’t ever happen again. That’s what it comes down to."

Lynch is actually the first female WWE Superstar to speak out on the lawsuit and, while she also chose her words carefully, it's clear the severity of this situation isn't lost on her.

"I have been fortunate in my career that I have always felt supported by the company," she started. "These allegations are horrible and it’s hard to reconcile as a talent and as a woman. But, my experience in WWE has only ever been amazing."

"Yes, in the beginning there was some restrictions on some things; we couldn’t punch, grabbing hair - there was some weird stuff there - but I was able to push us forward, push women forward and I’m very grateful for that. So this company...[right now] some of these things are hard to reconcile."

Randy Orton and Seth Rollins has shared similar sentiments, though John Cena came under fire last week for his apparent defence of McMahon (who, outside of WWE, is known to be a close personal friend of his).

"Right now, what I'm gonna do is love the person I love, be their friend," the leader of the Cenation pondered. "There's the saying, 'You don't know who your friends are until s**t hits the fan or your back is against the wall.' That doesn't make any of what's going on any easier to swallow. But just telling somebody 'Hey, I love you. Man, this is going to be a hill to climb, we're going to see what happens.'"

"It sounds so cliche, but it has to be one day at a time. At the same token, I've openly said I love the guy, I have a great relationship with the guy...so that's that."

As always, keep checking back here for more on this developing story as we have it.
