Braun Strowman was created by WWE, so the company deciding to release him...well, we never saw it coming. It wasn't that long ago the Monster Among Men was headlining WrestleMania Backlash alongside Drew McIntyre and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, and it's believed Strowman's massive $1 million per year contract may have sealed his fate.
Over the years, Strowman has always said he wouldn't work for any wrestling company that's not WWE. Now, though, it seems things have changed for the former Universal Champion.
Quoting lyrics from the song "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Strowman sent out a Tweet indicating that he's seriously considering jumping ship to another promotion. NWA owner Billy Corgan has actually expressed an interest in signing Strowman, while it's hard to imagine the likes of IMPACT Wrestling and AEW wouldn't want a star as big as this (literally and figuratively).
Many people believe that Strowman could pursue a carer in acting or strongman competitions, biding his time until he can eventually make his WWE return, likely as a much bigger star.
We'll see, but the Monster Among Men won't be free to sign elsewhere until September at the earliest. That's due to WWE's 90-day non-compete, so it could be a while before we hear anything official.
