There are a great many reasons why WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan isn't exactly beloved by his fellow wrestlers.
The Hulkster, a frequent stranger to the truth, has upset many people over the years, but Bret Hart has a very real hatred for the wrestling icon who was booed out of the building when he returned to WWE during RAW's premiere on Netflix back in January.
It became clear to WWE that fans didn't want to see Hogan, and despite claiming he had to drop out of Saturday Night's Main Event due to a family commitment, it was obvious there were some concerns about the response he previously received.
After all, while the first RAW on Netflix was a success, almost every mainstream media outlet focused on Hogan being booed. Several months ago, Hogan spoke with Logan Paul about the Hitman's disdain for his fellow WWE Legend.
"Bret hates everybody. If it’s not me, it’s Flair, it’s Vince," Hogan claimed. "I’ll never work for Vince again after what happened to my family’, and then he’s back. It just never ends with him. I love Bret to death, man. I started with Bret. I remember when I was in Atlanta, I was in the business for about three years, and I was like, 330 pounds, almost 340."
"I just remember Bret used to live across the hall from me when I was working for Channel 17, what was it? Crockett Promotion. I was so big, I’d wrestle three guys at once, so I’d pick all three of them up in a bear hug and just ragdoll them. Bret was one of them, but we were just all getting started so it was all fun, but then we got rolling, and man, he says I destroyed his career."
He added, "You know, it’s like, okay, all right, whatever. I just don’t get it, man, because I love him to death. He’s a good guy and he was a great asset to the business. When you talk like that, you attract more hatred and that negativity. It’s not good man. It’s time to switch up and be positive and happy and love people."
Now, Hart has responded to those remarks, and despite keeping his comments brief, he wasted little time in putting Hogan in his place.
"I heard something a few months ago where Hulk Hogan was talking about me," the WWE Hall of Famer told Ariel Helwani. "He said, 'The problem with Bret Hart is he really does think he was the greatest wrestler of all time.' I remember thinking and going, 'Yeah. Maybe.' That might be the most truthful thing he’s ever said."
We know Hart doesn't rate Hogan's in-ring abilities, so you can probably figure out why he chose to keep his response brief (sometimes, a little says a lot). You can hear more from the Hitman in the player below.
