Dean Ambrose Took On The Role Of Babyface At WWE Live Event This Past Weekend

Dean Ambrose is leaving WWE in April once his current contract expires but during a live event this weekend, the Lunatic Fringe unexpectedly took on a babyface role for a Fatal-4-Way match. Check it out!

For what was more than likely just one night only, Dean Ambrose made a face turn at WWE Live event in Saskatoon, Canada this weekend. He wrestled in a Fatal-4-Way match for the Intercontinental Championship which also included Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, and current champion Bobby Lashley.

Seth Rollins was supposed to work the show but due to a nagging injury, he was replaced in the match by Ambrose. He ended up cutting a babyface promo on Lashley and fans in attendance have said that there were no hints of the Lunatic Fringe we've been seeing on RAW over the past few months.

This could have been done to make fans in the building happy or because Ambrose is being allowed to play the character he wants at these shows ahead of his departure (think of it as a farewell tour, of sorts). WWE may have also realised that they made a mistake by turning him heel last year. Unfortunately, a babyface turn likely won't be enough to convince Ambrose to stick around after this April.

What the future holds in store for him isn't clear but many fans believe he'll end up in All Elite Wrestling.
