Dio Maddin Is NOT Returning To RAW As A Commentator And Will Instead Return To Wrestling

Dio Maddin's work on RAW as a commentator was slated by fans and critics alike so no one was really that shocked when he didn't return after being taken out by Brock Lesnar. Now, we know what's next for him...

He tried his best but it quickly became clear that Dio Maddin was not a good fit for the RAW commentary team. A few weeks back, he ended up being taken out by Brock Lesnar after standing up for Jerry "The King" Lawler and while he was expected to return shortly after, that still hasn't happened.

During last night's WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1, Ryan Satin provided an update and it turns out that the reason he hasn't returned to RAW is because he wants to continue wrestling instead.

Maddin was brought up from NXT to the 205 Live announce team and then moved to RAW at the behest of Paul Heyman. Now, this attack has been used as an excuse for him to go back to the Performance Center in Orlando where he can continue training to be a wrestler.

As a result, Samoa Joe will continue joining Vic Joseph and Jerry Lawler over the coming weeks while his hand injury continues to heal up.
