WWE Survivor Series 2025 is set to feature both a men's and women's WarGames match, as per usual, and while we don't know the full lineups for both teams, some changes were made on tonight's episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
Opening the show was a promo segment where Charlotte Flair told Alexa Bliss, Iyo Sky, and Rhea Ripley that she wasn't going to be teaming with them. She and Ripley have too many issues between them and too much history for her to ignore, and she doesn't trust her, so she gave Bliss her blessing to be in the match if she wants to, but The Queen herself is not going to be fighting alongside them. Just because they have the same enemy does not make them friends.
Later on, Bliss, Sky, and Ripley were talking backstage about Flair not being on their team, and how it means that they now need to find two new teammates, which points to this year's WarGames matches going with the five-on-five setup. In years past, there have been versions of this which are five-on-five, four-on-four, and other configurations. They were attacked by Lash Legend, Nia Jax, and The Kabuki Warriors, who still haven't announced their fifth member.
On the men's division side of things, Paul Heyman had a backstage segment where he and Bronson Reed approached SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about some details on the match. Heyman wanted to clarify that he indeed has the pick of anyone from both rosters (including SmackDown, naturally) to join the team if he wants. Aldis smugly said yes, and wasn't sure why Heyman bothered to come to SmackDown to do what could've been done in an email.
This set up a main event match for the Undisputed WWE Championship between Bronson Reed and Cody Rhodes, which ended in a disqualification after Bron Breakker and Logan Paul came out to attack The American Nightmare.
Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso both ran out to help Rhodes, having earlier in the night said they'd have his back (and Jimmy saying that he had spoken to CM Punk - who wasn't in the building - about joining their team for WarGames). They were able to turn the tide on the fight until Drew McIntyre made his surprise return after having been suspended by Nick Aldis, to help out Breakker, Reed, and Paul.
Aldis was furious, but Heyman continued to repeat that Aldis had said that "anyone" was available.
The remaining two men's competitors have yet to be revealed, but are speculated to be Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
