Drew McIntyre gets one more chance at the Undisputed Championship.
Originally, Jacob Fatu was scheduled to face “The Scottish Psychopath”, but the former United States Champion was taken out before their match. The bout itself was a number one contender’s match and since Fatu was unable to compete then Drew would’ve naturally been declared the winner.
However, Nick Aldis wasn’t going to hand him the win over so easily. Cody Rhodes came out and instantly started to fight McIntyre and these two had a wild brawl until Cody smashed him with the Undisputed title. That caused a disqualification.
Days later, General Manager Nick Aldis said that he discussed the outcome of last Friday’s results and he made McIntyre vs. Rhodes II official. This will be a rematch between the two as they wrestled in the main event of WrestlePalooza. Rhodes and McIntyre fought for nearly 20 minutes, but Drew made a mistake trying to hit the world champion with a claymore kick through the announce table. Cody moved out of the way and he was able to nail a cross rhodes a short time later that earned him a clean three count.
But can he do it again? We’ll find out on November 1st! Drew McIntyre hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to titles in 2025. He failed to win the United States Championship at Backlash in April as he was in a four way match that involved Jacob Fatu, Damian Priest, and LA Knight. His loss at WrestlePalooza made his record 0-2.
The Undisputed Championship match joins the WWE World heavyweight title match where a new champion is guaranteed. Jey Uso and CM Punk will fight for the coveted belt that was stripped from Seth Rollins due to injury.
