This year's SummerSlam takes place over two nights, and is currently scheduled for Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, 2025, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The show will stream exclusively on Peacock in the U.S., and will be available on Netflix overseas. WWE has started the build to its biggest PLE of the summer relatively late, though that's what happens when you have shows like Night of Champions, Saturday Night's Main Event, and Evolution 2 take place in such quick succession.
Following last night's SmackDown, we have an updated card for the event. Here's how it's shaping up so far:
Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship
John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk
Steel Cage Match for the WWE United States Championship
Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
Tag Team Match
Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul
Triple Threat Match for the Women’s World Championship
Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky
Singles Match for the WWE Women’s Championship
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill
Singles Match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria
Tag Team Match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss
We'd bet on at least a few more matches being added to both nights, especially as neither of the Men's Tag Team Championships is currently being defended at the PLE.
Cardi B hosts SummerSlam, and Triple H recently hinted at the rapper stepping into the ring in New Jersey next month. "I don’t know if anybody can control Cardi B," he teased. "If she wants to, it’s going to be hard to talk her out of it. What can we expect? Who the hell knows. The one thing I know about Cardi is, whatever she’s going to do is what she’s going to do, and you’re sort of hanging on to the tiger’s tail a little bit."
"She’s a lot of fun to work with, has been so far with this. She’s excited to do it. As everybody knows, she’s a big fan and has talked a lot about the business over the years and comments on it a lot," The Game continued. "When you work with people like that, it’s exciting. We’ll see where that goes. We’re thrilled to be working with her. With people like Cardi, you never know."
Here's a reminder of how Rhodes' match with Cena became a Street Fight:
