Rumors have been running rampant about Rey Mysterio returning to the WWE to face John Cena at WrestleMania, however, it seems like the former World Heavyweight champion was injured Friday night on a independent show.

Mysterio believed  that he may have torn his left biceps during a tag team match while teaming with Flip Gordon against Joey Mercury & Caleb Konley in Waterbury, Connecticut for Northeast Wrestling onFriday. It’s not known how bad the injury is at the moment, but reports say that there was heavy swelling in the arm.

Mysterio told Mercury during the match about the injury and Mercury was ready to call an audible on the finish, but Mysterio immediately did the set up for a double 619 and ended up getting the win for his team by pinning Konley with a splash off the top rope.
