Here's Why Former NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors Of Pain Haven't Been Called Up To The Main Roster

At last month's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, The Authors of Pain lost the NXT Tag Team Championship to SAnitY and most fans expected the dominant duo to arrive on the main roster soon after (mostly because both RAW and SmackDown Live could do with larger tag team divisions). Despite not appearing at the first set of NXT tapings after the event, we now know they're still part of that roster.

Interestingly, despite appearing at the latest set of tapings down in Full Sail, it's been reported that WWE officials did consider bringing them up to the main roster but decided against it.

Apparently, opinions were split when it comes to whether or not Akam and Rezar are actually ready and with no creative plan in place for the formerly undefeated tag team, it was decided that they're best off in NXT for the time being in order to avoid another "Ascension situation." To be fair, they're definitely rough around the edges and a little more time in NXT definitely isn't going to hurt either man!
