Is This The Real Reason Daniel Bryan Was Kept Off SMACKDOWN LIVE This Past Tuesday?

We were told that Bryan was not medically cleared to compete because doctors feared he might get a chest infection after those nasty chops he sustained in TGRR, but it seems there might be more to the story...

During The Greatest Royal Rumble match last Friday, Daniel Bryan was chopped so hard by his old rival Roderick Strong that his chest resembled, as Corey Graves so accurately put it, hamburger meat.

Bryan was no-show on Smackdown the following Tuesday and the announcers told us it was because doctors feared his chest might become infected. However, it seems there was a bit more to it than that.

According to Fightful.com, Daniel was originally supposed to interrupt Big Cass during his (awful) segment, but WWE higher ups didn't like how his bruises looked on TV.

Yep, that's it.

At any rate, Bryan is still scheduled to face Cass at Backlash this Sunday - hopefully with a nice, bruise-free chest.
